February 19, 2008 - As a follow-up to Sister Helen Prejean’s campus lecture and production of the play ‘Dead Man Walking,” King’s College will host a free public panel discussion of the death penalty at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, in Room 109 of the Sheehy Farmer Campus Center. Panel members will present various perspectives on the death penalty debate, including legal, ethical, victim’s rights and mental health and competency of defendants. Audience members are encouraged to participate in the discussion. Panel members will be Attorney Bill Ruzzo of the Luzerne County Public Defender’s Office, Terry Novak of the Victim’s Resource Center, Don Broderick of The Arc of Luzerne County and Dr. Kyle Johnson of the philosophy department at King’s. The Campus Center is located between N. Main and N. Franklin streets. The event is sponsored by the Shoval Center at King’s College and the Wilkes-Barre Peace and Justice Center. King's College is a Catholic College sponsored by the congregation of Holy Cross. |
