Irish in Northeastern Pennsylvania Presentation to be Held

February 27, 2008- John McKeown, a noted expert on Ireland, will be presenting a history of immigration from Ireland to Northeastern Pennsylvania at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the Moreau Room, Campus Ministry Building at King’s College.

McKeown will address the Irish immigrant’s transition from the conditions of Ireland to their working in the local coal mining industry. Other features of the coal mining era will be presented and music of the time will be played live.

The public is welcome to attend this presentation free of charge. The presentation is a part of King’s College’s Ethnic Outreach.
