Noted Family Business Expert to Help
King’s Family Business Forum Celebrate 10th Anniversary

January 31, 2008 - John Ward, co-founder of the Family Business Consulting Group, Inc., and co-director of the Center for Family Enterprises at the Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, will provide the keynote address at 10th anniversary meeting of the Family Business Forum at King’s College.  The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, on the third floor of the Sheehy Farmer Campus Center, located between N. Main and N. Franklin streets, Wilkes-Barre.

The address, titled “Perpetuating the Family Business: Lessons Learned from Successful Long Lasting Families in Business,” is open to both Family Business Forum members and non-members.  Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Patrice Persico at (570)208-5972.

Ward is a noted authority on strategic management, business leadership and family enterprise continuity and has conducted research on family succession, ownership, governance and philanthropy. 

Ward has authored numerous books on family business, including “Keeping the Family Business Healthy,” ‘Strategic Planning for the Family Business” and “Key Issues and Unconventional Wisdom: Counterintuitive Insights for Family Business Success.”  He is a co-author of “The Family Business Leadership Series,” a collection of booklets focusing on specific issues facing family businesses.

The Family Business Forum at King's College was established in 1998 to enhance the family business community in Northeastern Pennsylvania by providing a learning and networking forum for family businesses, program sponsors, and the students and faculty of King's College.
