Counseling

Q: What counseling services are available?

A: A variety of counseling services are available on campus. The King's College Counseling Center provides a psychologist and counselor who assist students with issues of a personal, developmental, or emotional nature. The Center's staff is trained to take care of most student needs. However, when appropriate, or at a student's request, referrals are made to psychiatrists, psychologists, or agencies in the local area. Another form of counseling is available through King's College Campus Ministry. Here, students can find needed direction in matters of faith or religious practice. The staff is prepared to assist students, Catholic or other, in seeking out a place where students may practice their beliefs. Academic Advisement aids students in selecting their majors and in choosing their courses, while Academic Skills assists them in developing good study habits and, when needed, in finding tutors. Our Residence Life staff is prepared to assist students in the day-to-day issues of living on campus. Each of these facilities is prepared to direct a student to other services on and off campus where a student may get the type of help they require. We invite you to encourage your daughter or son to utilize these services.
