The Association for Campus Events (ACE) is the student social programming board that plans and implements many of the social and recreational activities at the College, such as Friends and Family Weekend, the All-College Ball, Homecoming, comedians, movies, dances, scavenger hunts, novelty games, and shopping and sightseeing trips. Q: What types of co-curricular activities are available on campus? A: There are over 50 clubs and organizations on campus which complement the classroom experience and fit personal interests, ambitions, and academic goals. They provide countless opportunities for involvement and active student leadership A list of the clubs/organizations is published in the Student Handbook and the Student Activities brochure. The Activities Fair and the Volunteer Fair are held annually in September and provide an opportunity for students to become members of the various campus organizations. Q: Are there any clubs or support services for minority and international students? A:
King's College works to provide an atmosphere suitable for an exchange
of ideas and experiences among the entire college community. The Office
of Multicultural and International Affairs provides support and advocacy
for all students, especially African, Asian, Latino/a, and Native American
and international students. The office also provides opportunities for
students to initiate, coordinate, and implement programs, which work to
enhance their personal, social, and intellectual development. There are also several special interest clubs and organizations. For example the Multicultural/International Club is a student organization that celebrates diversity and promotes intercultural harmony and understanding through programming. Membership in this organization is open to all King's students. The Club annually sponsors several major programs with the Office for Multicultural Affairs, Student Activities, Women's Studies Department, as well as other student clubs and organizations. Recent programs have included the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, Dave Pallone, "Who's Really on First?", and the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet 2001. The Office of Multicultural and International Affairs is located in the Sherrer House. Q: What is available for the students in the Campus Center? A:

A: Yes. The Office of Volunteer Services coordinates projects which can be either a one-day experience, a weekly commitment, a SERVE project during Spring, Summer or Fall Break, or an opportunity lasting a year or longer. This provides students with the opportunity to connect with the local community, develop new skills, and discover their own leadership abilities. |
