INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE 2008 - CALL FOR PAPERS AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES CALL FOR PAPERS AND PROPOSALS Deadline for submission of proposals for papers & panels: January 31, 2008 Invitations to be issued by February 27, 2008 Program Committee : Bindu Vyas, James Sysco, King's College, McGowan School of Business The interdisciplinary conference on "Economic Development, Ethics and the Environment in the 21 st century Latin America " will bring together scholars, educators, graduate, undergraduate, students and community members interested in Latin American Studies. The focus of the interdisciplinary conference at King's College will be Latin America 's place in a globalised world. Interdisciplinary papers and panels on issues and topics related to Latin America are invited. We hope to attract a wide range of inter-disciplinary, perspectives, and all topics are welcome. Student papers are welcome. We particularly encourage submissions in the following areas:
This list is merely suggestive of the range of topics appropriate for the Interdisciplinary Conference on Latin America, which ideally seeks inputs from scholars across a number of disciplines related to environment of Latin America . Submissions and Review Process Proposals for panels and or papers must be submitted by January 30 th , 2008 , and authors will be notified of the decision by February 27, 2007 . Panel proposals should include names of panelists and their personal notes to attend, should the panel be accepted. Submissions should be sent to one of the contacts listed below. Submissions should consist of a 2-3 page summary of the proposed paper or panel. The Program Committee will review all papers and proposals. Proposals should include the panel title, an abstract of 300 words (max.) outlining the topic and aims of the panel, and a contact name, address, and email. Names of presenters and paper titles should be included when possible. In order to include as diverse a range of topics as possible, please limit your panel submissions to a maximum of 2 sessions of 90 minutes . Recommended presentation time per paper 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion. Deadline for proposals: 30th January. Acceptance decisions will be made by 27 th February.
