Dear Colleagues:

The King’s College community has always displayed a commitment to our community, and one part of that tradition that I’m especially proud of is our participation in the annual campaign of The United Way of the Wyoming Valley. Our college employee campaign will begin on Tuesday, November 1.
The United Way of Wyoming Valley has helped more than 32,000 local people last year. Through your generosity, the United Way serves people in need throughout Wilkes-Barre and the surrounding area. The United Way funds a variety of community agencies and programs, including services for children and adults with disabilities, crisis and substance abuse counseling, shelters to provide safety to abused women, and many other services.
Your generous contributions in the past have helped make these services available to people in need. This year, the need in our community is even greater as the United Way of Wyoming Valley continues to support residents impacted by the devastating flooding caused by Tropical Storm Lee.
Once again, Joseph Giomboni, Assistant Director of Public Relations, has agreed to lead this year’s United Way Employee Campaign. You will receive further information from Joe about the campaign, which will conclude on Wednesday, November 23.
I invite you to make a donation to the United Way of Wyoming Valley. Together, our gifts can make a difference and strengthen our community.
Sincerely,
Rev. John Ryan, C.S.C., Ph.D.
President
