Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a prerequisite for admission. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit proof of English proficiency to the Admission Office before being considered for admission. Substantiation will be determined by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam given by the Educational Testing Service. The official test results are to be sent directly to the Admission Office by the testing agency.

Prior to arrival for classes, all students must complete a health form that includes past and present medical history, the results of a recent physical examination, and history of required immunizations.

Health insurance is required of all international students and is available through the institution. If the student has health insurance through their family or sponsor, they must provide the name of the company and policy, written in English. Not all physicians or medical facilities will accept insurance from outside of the country, so students may need to purchase additional insurance or be prepared to pay for any medical bills that might be incurred. King's will recommend resources on health insurance issues.

King's provides an on-campus student health center clinic that is staffed by a physician assistant and a physician from the community.
