Grants are open to all full-time, degree-seeking, undergraduates who demonstrate financial need. Grants can come from the federal government, the state government, or King’s College. Grants do not need to be repaid and are renewable each year provided renewal eligibility requirements are met. The following grant information is updated for the Fall 2022 entry term using 2022-2023 data. 

INSTITUTIONAL GRANTS

Holy Cross Resident Grant ($5,000) 
For students who attend a high school sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. This grant is applied to room charges for King’s College residence halls for the student’s first year. 

FAFSA Filer Grant ($1,000) 
Admitted students that file their FAFSA by May 1 and enroll at King’s College will receive an additional $1,000 grant that is renewable for up four years (eight semesters) of undergraduate, full-time enrollment, provided the student files a FAFSA each year.  

Legacy Grant ($1,000) 
An annual award for a child, stepchild, or grandchild of a member of the King’s College alumni community that is renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) of undergraduate, full-time enrollment with a maximum award of $4,000. 

Sibling Grant ($1,500) 
This tuition grant is awarded for families when they have two or more undergraduate, dependent siblings enrolled concurrently on a full-time basis during the fall or spring semester. 

King’s Grant-in-Aid (Varies) 
King’s Grant in Aid is based on financial need as determined by information reported on the FAFSA. These grants may be adjusted annually based on a student's/family's financial situation. Students must file a FAFSA each year in order to be considered for a King’s Grant in Aid. This grant is need-based and does not have to be repaid. 

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is awarded to transfer students who are members of this International Scholastic Order of two-year colleges. A minimum transfer GPA of 3.50 is required for consideration for this scholarship as well as an earned associate degree. The student must enroll at King’s College immediately upon graduation from the two-year college. Proof of PTK membership is required. This scholarship is renewed if the recipient maintains a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA at King’s College. Part-time students are not eligible for this award.

FEDERAL GRANTS

Federal Pell Grant (Varies) 
The Pell grant is a federal need-based grant for students with expected family contribution (EFC) less than $5,846. Full-time scheduled awards range from $6,895 to $672.  (2022-2023). 

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (Varies) 
The SEOG campus-based federal grant is awarded to Pell Grant recipients in most need. Award amounts vary but will never exceed $4000 per year. 

STATE GRANTS

Pennsylvania State Grant 
This need-based grant is for Pennsylvania residents with awards ranging from $612 to $5,099. Final determination of the award is made by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) beginning in mid-May. Students must file their FAFSA each year by May 1 to be considered.
