How did you select your Study/Intern Abroad location?
I heard about the university when I went on vacation to visit family in Mexico, one summer. So I decided to look into it, and I loved it.
Why did you want to study or intern abroad?
I wanted to have the experience of meeting new people and living in a new environment. I also wanted to challenge myself, so I decided to do it in Spanish.
What were the highlights of this experience?
I loved the campus, the people, and especially the traveling.
What surprised you the most?
I was surprised at the number of people who know English plus another language. I noticed how many of us take for granted the English language.
How has (or how might) this experience affect your major and future career?
Now I know I would like a job that includes some traveling. Therefore, I would like to learn another language besides English and Spanish.
What would you tell students considering studying or interning abroad?
I would tell students to go for it because those are moments you will never get back. You learn to appreciate many things and to be much more open-minded. It’s a great learning experience since your living it “live”, rather than through a textbook.
