ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT The Center for Academic Advisement and Student Development is responsible for the academic advisement of all first-year and transfer students. Advisors assist the students in selecting courses which meet the requirements for the core curriculum and major programs. First-year students meet with their advisors throughout the year. Academic advisement is a four-year process characterized by its strength and consistency.
UNDECIDED MAJORS Approximately 20% of first-year students are undecided about their major, which is not unusual. Students undecided about their major are provided with information concerning the various programs offered by the college. They are assisted in making course selections which will afford them the opportunity to sample areas of interest in order to decide on a major field of study and on a career goal. Because of the strength of the advisement program at King’s, 20% of undecided students are able to select a major by their sophomore year. Academic Advisement |
