EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING - PLACEMENTS

Internships for King’s students take place at large and small, public and private, for-profit and non-profit organizations in all economic and geographic sectors.  Each year approximately 120 different sites participate in the internship program, totaling an impressive list of approximately 1000 different employers supervising our interns since 1985.

The Center for Experiential Learning director maintains a very visible presence in the business community to continually recruit new participants and to maintain existing relationships. Outreach efforts to both local sites and those out of the area are conducted through a variety of methods including networking through professional organizations, mailings, career fairs, conferences, the internet, directories, and word-of-mouth.  Faculty, alumni, and the students themselves are also ongoing sources of referrals.  The Center for Experiential Learning has access to literally thousands of available internship opportunities.  Prior to participation in the internship program, all new site supervisors are oriented to the program and all positions are verified for academic validity.
