October 22, 2009 - Three new members were recently elected to the King’s College Board of Directors and began three-year terms at the group’s October meeting. In addition, the Rev. Thomas Looney, C.S.C., joined the 36-member board as an ex officio member in his capacity as the newly elected Provincial of the Eastern Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
James O’Hara is a 1958 graduate of King’s and earned additional degrees from Catholic University and Georgetown Law School. He currently serves of counsel to Jones Day in Washington, D.C. Previously, he was a partner and served as chair of the worldwide tax group for the international law firm. He is a founding member of the Washington Area King’s College Alumni Club (KWAC).
Cathy Serafin is a 1983 summa cum laude graduate of King’s. A graduate of Villanova Law School, Serafin is a partner in Howery LLP, a global law firm focused on antitrust, insurance, and intellectual property law. She is a partner in the firm’s Insurance Recovery practice group and is also a founding member of KWAC.
Walter Tischer is a 1970 graduate of King’s and is president of Tischer and Company, a business and security equipment firm based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Father Looney is a former chair of the King’s theology department and also served as dean of the faculty. Before accepting the Provincial position this summer, he was Vice President for Mission at Stonehill College. King's College is a Catholic College sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. |
