King’s to host writing open reading, writing workshop in September

September 8, 2009 – King’s College will host Campion Literary Society Open Readings followed by a Writing Workshop during the month of September. The readings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Gold Room, located on the sixth floor of the Administration Building on North River Street.

The writing workshop will occur at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center, located between North Main and North Franklin streets.

The open readings are an opportunity for students, faulty, and community members to present their original creative writing or that of a published author in an informal atmosphere.

Writing workshops are a themed, hour-long writing class in a casual environment hosted by student leaders.  They will instruct participants on how to write creatively by using exercises.

The workshops and open readings are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at open readings.  For more information, contact Jennifer Yonkoski at (570) 208-5900, ext. 5487.
