Elizabeth Lott of Kingston named Dean of Graduate Programs at King’s College 

July 17, 2009 – Elizabeth S. Lott was recently named Dean of Graduate Programs at King’s College. She was previously director of graduate programs at King’s for the past 15 years. In her new position, Lott will oversee all functions of the Graduate Division, including recruitment, admission and advisement of graduate students; development of course schedules; registration; academic standing; and assessment of instructors, courses and programs.

Prior to coming to King’s, Lott began her career as a faculty fellow at the University of Notre Dame.  She was later a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and worked in the Corporate Public Relations Department of Miles Inc. (now Bayer).

Lott earned a doctorate from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. She received the distinguished Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Graduate Schools in 2004, and the Rose Allan Tucker Award for community service in 2001. She was also awarded an Elizabeth Donath Endowed Fellowship by the American Association of University Women.

In addition to her responsibilities with graduate programs, Lott has taught Latin language classes at King’s since 2001.  Lott and her husband Dr. Brian Pavlac, department chair and professor of history at King’s, reside in Kingston. The couple has two daughters, Margaret and Helen.
