2 local King’s seniors present history research papers at conference
April 27, 2009 – Two local King’s College seniors recently presented their history research papers at the 2009 Phi Alpha Theta Eastern Pennsylvania/New Jersey Regional Conference at Millersville University.
Gracjan Kraszewski, Dallas, presented on “Robert E. Lee, Gentleman and General”; and, Kimberly Pleban, Mountain Top, presented on “The Impact of Television on American Culture Particularly the Role of Women.”
Kraszewski, a history major, is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society, and the College’s baseball team. He is the son of Aleksandra and Charles Kraszewski.
Majoring in history and secondary education, Pleban is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society, and the College’s Dean’s List. She works as the girls’ track and field coach at Crestwood High School and also serves as a Faith Formation Teacher at St. John Bosco in Conyngham. She is the daughter of Nancy Pleban.
The advisor of King’s Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta is Howard B. Fedrick, assistant professor of history at King’s College. Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. Phi Alpha Theta seeks to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by members in a variety of ways.
