The following faculty members have been granted tenure and will become associate professors: Dr. Kristi D. Concannon, physics; and, Dr. Tara J. Shawver, accounting. Concannon of Albrightsville currently teaches courses in physics, astronomy and astrophysics. She serves on a number of committees, including Faculty Council, Curriculum and Teaching and Faculty Scholarship Committee. She is a member of the Assessment Team, and two sub-committees, FYE/Orientation and Service Learning. As faculty advisor for the chemistry club, Concannon organizes the College’s annual Halloween chemistry show, "Things That Go Boom in the Night". She also hosts a "Science Movie Night" in which faculty and students watch a popular movie and then analyze the science content. Shawver of Wapwallopen teaches several accounting courses including financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting policy and professional responsibility and information systems. She is a board member of the Ethics Center Board at King’s, a member of the National Institute of Management Accountants Ethics Board, and an Accounting Association Advisor. Shawver has several journal publications, including “The Intention of Accounting Students to Whistleblow in Situations of Questionable Ethical Dilemmas” in “Research on Professional Responsibility and Ethics in Accounting.” Promoted to professor were Dr. Derrick E. Boucher, physics; Dr. William Irwin, philosophy; Dr. Charles S. Kraszewski; English; and, Megan Lloyd, English. Promoted to associate technical professor was M. Sheileen Corbett, theatre.
