Miguel Pinedo-Vasquez
Miguel Pinedo-Vasquez is a forest ecologist with extensive experience in research and implementation of development and conservation projects in Amazonia. Currently, he is co-investigator on multidisciplinary research and training projects in Brazil and Peru. His most recent publications deal mostly with the patterns and effects of smallholder management of tropical ecosystems and landscapes.
He holds a B.S. in Forestry from the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana, an MFS in Forest Science from Yale University School of Forestry & Environmental. Studies and a D. F. in Forestry from Yale. He presently holds appointments as the Research Director for land use changes and rural populations in the Peruvian Amazon, the Research Coordinator for changes in resource use and rural mobility in the Brazilian Amazon, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the departments of Anthropology and Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology at Columbia University, Scientific Coordinator and Director, Peru Sub-cluster People, Land Management and Environmental Change (PLEC) and Associate Research Scientist, Center for Environmental Research and Conservation, Columbia University.
