APPLICATION PROCESS FOR FRESHMEN Apply for admission - you must first be accepted to the college before any aid can be awarded. Upon acceptance, new freshmen will be considered for scholarship. File Your Financial Aid Application - To complete your financial aid application, you will be asked to provide information from your 2007 federal tax return. Try to complete your tax return early in order to provide accurate data on your applications. Keep extra copies of your tax returns should they be requested at a later date. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the King's College Application for Financial Aid after January 1, 2008 but preferably by February 15, 2008. To complete it on-line, you and your parent must first register for pin numbers at www.pin.ed.gov. The pin numbers will serve as your electronic signatures. If you do not use your pin number as your signature, then you must print, sign and mail the signature page within 14 days of submitting the FAFSA. Without a signed FAFSA, your eligibility cannot be determined. The King's College Application for Financial Aid will be mailed to all applicants for admission starting in November. You can complete it online or download and print the King's Aid Application. Once completed, mail it directly to the King's College Financial Aid Office, 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. Award letters will contain any scholarships awarded to you by King's as well as your eligibility for federal, state and other college aid. Sign and return the Award Acceptance Form to the Financial Aid Office. Please note the deadline for returning the form. Your application may be selected for verification by the federal processor. If selected, we are required to verify the accuracy of the data you provided on your FAFSA. If selected, you will be required to provide additional information to us such as copies of your 2007 federal tax returns. Please respond promptly to all requests for information as it may impact your eligibility for aid. |
