GRADUATE FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS

Applicants for financial aid are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA), which can be completed on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. FA Programs for graduate students include: www.fafsa.ed.gov

Federal Stafford Loan
Students accepted into a graduate program and enrolled for a minimum of six credits per semester or session may borrow up to $8,500 per academic year through this program. These loans are interest-free as long as a student is enrolled. Students who wish to apply for a Stafford Loan should contact the Financial Aid Office at 570) 208-5868 or (800) 955-5777.

Although applicants who have not yet completed their application files may take up to three graduate courses on a non-degree basis, applicants who wish to apply for student loans should note that they must be in accepted degree status to be eligible for Federal Stafford Loans. It is in the best interest of these applicants to complete their application materials before beginning their graduate course work.

Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan
A matriculated student may borrow up to an additional $10,000 through this program. This loan requires quarterly interest payments. Students must contact a lending institution to obtain a loan application for these loan programs. For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office at 570) 208-5868 or (800) 955-5777.

Private Alternative Loans
Private alternative loans are available for students who may need to borrow more than allowable through Federal Stafford Loans or for students who may not meet the eligibility requirements of the Federal Stafford Loan program. Private loans are based on the credit-worthiness of the applicant. More information on private loans, as well as the application, can be found here.
