High school seniors who are in the first quintile of their class are eligible to participate in the College Discovery Program. High school juniors should be in the top 10% of their class in order to participate in the program. Students must be recommended by their high school counselor, and must complete the application form for the program.
In addition to participating in a quality academic program that has been recognized nationally, students will experience a real college classroom while they are still in high school. This will enable them to make an easier transition to college life.
Each student who participates in the College Discovery Program will be awarded three college credits for the successful completion of each course. Students can take up to 12 credits under the College Discovery Program. Credits received by the student under this program are applied to the graduation requirements, should the student elect to enter a degree program at King's College. These credits may also be accepted in transfer by other institutions.
For only $150, you will be able to take a regular college course for credit. Compare this to the cost of a regular undergraduate college credit, and you can see that it pays to take courses while you're still in high school!
Select a course from the list of offerings. Complete the registration/application form and have it signed by your guidance counselor. Send both forms, an official copy of your high school transcript, and the $150 fee, to: College Discovery, Admissions Office, King's College, 133 North River Street. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711
