Admission to the honors program is selective. To qualify, freshman applicants must be in the first quintile of their graduating class and have a minimum SAT score of 1100, with a 550 minimum score on the verbal portion.
Although it is in the student's best interest to start off with the program in their freshman year, sophomores with a grade point average of at least 3.25 may apply for admission. Non-program students with a G.P.A. of at least 3.00 may enroll in honors courses with the prior written approval of the director of the honors program.
Students who successfully complete the Academic Component of the honors program and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.40 are awarded an honors program certificate at commencement.
