STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM - STUDENT EXPERIENCES

Carolyn Franzone
Mass Communications/Marketing Major
Class of 2006
John Cabot University
Rome , Italy

How did you select your Study Abroad location?

I have always wanted to study in Italy . It was a last minute decision to go for a semester, so I chose the school that would best fit my academic and personal requirements.

Why did you want to study abroad?

I have always loved to travel, and I thought why not get some credits out of the way while doing so. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to grow as a person and meet so many new people.

What was the highlight of the experience?

The friendships that I made and the places I got to see.

What surprised you the most?

That I was able to be away from home for that long by myself, and how quickly I adapted to the new culture and surroundings.

How has this experience affected your major and future career?

I was able to complete all of my credits for my major and minor, and it looks good on a resume, which attracts future employers.

What would you tell students considering studying abroad?

Do it! It is an experience you will never forget. If it is not possible, then make it happen. Everyone should study abroad if they get the chance.
