STUDY ABROAD AFFILIATED PROGRAMS Webster University in The Netherlands The town of Leiden is the oldest and largest university town in The Netherlands and is located along one of the region's many canals, approximately 30 minutes by train from Amsterdam . The presence of the University of Leiden has attracted an environment of shops, cafes, and cultural opportunities that serve the students who make up much of the town's population. Leiden can be traversed on foot in an afternoon, but many students choose to rent or purchase a bicycle while living there. Next to walking, bicycles are the most popular form of transit. The student population is quite international due to the proximity of Amsterdam with its multinational companies and The Hague , home to many international political organizations. Americans studying abroad are just a small part of the multinational student body at Webster in Leiden . The small class sizes and personal environment fit well into this compact, intellectually rich community. For more information about this program, visit: www.webster.edu/intl/sa/netherlands.html.
