STUDY ABROAD AFFILIATED PROGRAMS

Webster University in Japan

Webster University , in partnership with one of Japan 's premier private universities, Kansai University , offers students the opportunity to study Japanese language, history, culture, politics, and business in Osaka . The program is open to all students, whether or not they can speak Japanese. The University sponsors many programs and activities to promote friendly exchange among students, faculty, and staff and to help international students understand the traditional culture and advanced technology of Japan.

The Kansai region, in which Osaka is located, covers a broad area including the neighbouring cities of Kobe , Kyoto , and Nara . The region displays a rich blend of individual characteristics of the areas surrounding Osaka , a hive of economic activity and free enterprise. Kobe is an international port city, Kyoto a city of academic pursuits and traditional culture while Nara is an historical treasure house of temples and shrines.

Because of the nature of the Japanese academic calendar, this program is currently only available as a year-long program. A fall semester program will begin in Fall 2007. For more information about this program, visit www.webster.edu/intl/sa/japan.html .
