EMPLOYER INFORMATION

King's College, Wilkes-Barre, PA, is an independent Catholic College founded in 1946 by the Holy Cross Fathers of the University of Notre Dame. The College offers a variety of well recognized academic programs at both the bachelor's and master's degree levels. Education at King's College is student centered. The faculty are committed to excellent teaching as their first responsibility, both in the core curriculum of general studies which all undergraduates follow, and in the major programs of the College of Arts and Sciences and the William G. McGowan School of Business.

The academic curriculum is complemented by a full program of co-curricular organizations and activities which contribute to the cultural, spiritual and personal development of students. Faculty and professional staff share responsibility for working with students formally and informally as advisors, coaches, counselors, and mentors to foster a climate of support and concern in a community committed to academic excellence, social responsibility, and mutual respect.

We invite you to tap into the tremendous resources available in King's College students and graduates by participating in recruitment and career related activities. The following is a sample of what the King's College Office of Career Planning and Placement has to offer employers.

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITMENT
Employers are most welcome to conduct on-campus interviews to recruit candidates for current and/or anticipated openings in their organizations. A resume pre-screening system is used to make the interview process more efficient and effective. In addition to on-campus recruitment, participation in job fairs is also encouraged.

JOB NOTIFICATIONS
Employers are welcome and encouraged to make the Office of Career Planning and Placement aware of any full-time, part-time and/or summer openings in their organizations. For all positions, the office will post them on the King's College Job Finder Database and forward them out to the individuals who participate on our e-mail mailing service.  Contact the office for additional information regarding this service.

SITE VISITS
If on-campus recruitment is not an option, but you are willing to interview seniors and/or graduates, we will be pleased to coordinate the resume referral process for interviews at your place of employment.

ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIPS
King's College accounting program has long enjoyed an excellent reputation in the business world. The senior year accounting internship is a vital part of the preparation of new graduates for professional positions in public, private and government organizations. The partnership is a WIN-WIN situation and additional placement sites are being sought. The internship is held during the spring semester and involves full-time employment through a seven to eight week time period. For additional information on the accounting internship program, click here.

CAREER PRESENTATIONS
Employers are encouraged to contact the Office of Career Planning and Placement to serve as potential workshop presenters about employment opportunities within their organization or about career information in general.

CAREER RESOURCE CENTER
Employers can maintain a presence on campus by providing the Office of Career Planning and Placement with company literature, annual reports and/or video tapes which will become part of the Career Resource Library. This library is heavily utilized by King's students in researching employers for the job search.

EMPLOYMENT FAIRS
An annual employment fair co-sponsored by King's College and the four other local independent colleges with over 130 employers participating. If you would like to participate in this fair contact the Office of Career Planning and Placement to be placed on our mailing list.
