ON CAMPUS RECRUITMENT PROGRAM
The On-Campus Recruitment Program Philosophy The On-Campus Recruitment (OCR) program sponsored through the Office of Career Planning and Placement (OCPP) supports students by introducing them to a structured interview process, which is just one tool in learning to manage their life-long professional development. This OCR program supports the College’s mission to provide “students a broad based liberal arts education which offers the intellectual, moral, and spiritual preparation that enables them to lead meaningful and satisfying lives.” It is our mission to assist students during each stage of the employment process. We ensure that the OCR process is educational, practical and one where the student can obtain feedback throughout. The OCR program emphasizes pre-interview preparation, concrete interviewing skills, and post interview protocol. Pre-interviewing skills include the importance of self exploration, dynamic resume preparation, comprehensive employer research, and professional first impression. King’s students have the opportunity to practice interviewing skills through a mock interview and are encouraged to identify their interviewing strengths along with skills which need improvement. Post interviewing protocol includes guidance in post-interview correspondence, proper acceptance/decline of job offers, negotiation, and the importance of life long professional development.
